Hello! My name is Lizette Yasay and was born in Honolulu Hawaii, with a passion for creativity. Growing up, I've always loved to create things. It all started with me scribbling all over newspapers, to coloring in coloring books, which eventually led me to drawing, painting, crafting, etc. I've always loved the feeling of accomplishment after creating a piece since so much thought, effort, and trial and error go into it. Because the problem solving aspect of that was so fun to me, I decided to study Graphic Design—where problem solving and creativity meet.
Made by Lizette was born during the 2020 pandemic. My ‘creative IG’ used to be a calligraphy/hand lettering account, which was a hobby I loved during college, until that eventually died out in 2019. My IG handle was formerly @letteringbylizette until I started creating macrame pieces to keep busy during SIP and eventually got back into illustration. I realized I loved digital illustration and started creating and selling prints and stickers all from my home. Thus @made.by.lizette came to life!
As the support for small businesses grew stronger during the pandemic, mine started to take off through online sales, marketing on IG, and eventually popups!
Aside from running a small business, I am a stay at home mama to a 4 year old boy, and a baby girl.
SKILLSET
I graduated with a BS in Graphic Design with honors, from Sacramento State University. While attending SacState, I interned for Assoc. Students, Inc. as a graphic designer, and gained a year of professional experience in the field. I have acquired skills in crafting, photography, 2D animation, html coding, print, typography, packaging, and anything that requires the Adobe Creative Suite.
