restaurant fusion: cusina
OBJECTIVE
Create a unique dining experience involving two cultures, Filipino & Italian, and use design elements based off of research of both cultures to create a unique and dynamic dining experience.
Cusina: KUSINA (Kitchen in Tagalog) + CUCINA (Cuisine in Italian)
Because food and family are two main aspects of both cultures, I wanted to emphasize the importance of that. I was inspired by Filipino tribal art that contrasts the elegance of Italian art (influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement), which are incorporated in my designs.
I made a "Create Your Own" menu, so that guests can custom make their dishes from a list of meats, sauces, oil, veggies, and toppings that are commonly used in both cultures.
